Hurricane Matthew recently made landfall in the USA. But before affecting the USA, the hurricane made landfall over Haiti and the results were not good.

The interim president of Haiti is now saying that the country could risk a famine if management of he called “apocalyptic” destruction was not handled well.

So what was the destruction?

The death toll is set to be around 900 people. Over a million people are reported to be displaced. Some towns and villages have been almost completely destroyed.

This is not the first time that Haiti has suffered significant loss of life due to a natural disaster. Haiti’s earthquake made international headline in 2010 when over 200,000 people died.
