This is an amazing story.

Motherboard 2016- As some of you may remember the Carribean and certain parts of the east coast of the US got hit by Hurricane Matthew.

One man named Hart was flying his drone over areas that have been inundated by flooding in Hope Mills, North Carolina.

He says, about the flooding “When I deployed the drone and got an aerial view of it, I was like, ‘oh my gosh, this is devastating’,”

Hart later shared some of the images he captured on Twitter and Instagram. That could have been the end of it.

But in Texas, a man named Craig Williams was concerned because his brother lived in Hope Mills and Craig couldn’t get through to emergency services.

Concerned, Craig used Twitter to look up the Hashtag #HopeMills. He looked through and eventually found Hart’s photo.

Craig sent the photo to his brother saying” at least it wasn’t this bad”. It turned out that one house in the picture was Craig’s brother’s house.

Craig contacted Hart, who then was able to alert local authorities partly by flying his drone next to the house. Craig’s brother and his dog were rescued.
